Waterfront Grandeur

Capturing the ambience of lakeside living was once again a priority in creating this imposing design - the second home built for this client. The expansive outdoor entertainment area has been designed as a focal point for the home and is the stunning image that greets visitors as they enter the vestibule, creating a resort-style atmosphere.

An ornamental pond flows into the swimming pool, linked by a timber footbridge, and offers your first glimpse of a truly innovative and livable home.

An eclectic blend of materials cleverly showcases key features in the design, beginning with the combination of glass used in the mosaic patterned front door, leading you through to the inlaid stainless steel signature in the entryway, and dare we say ‘ending’ at the rear doors of the garage.  Once the doors of the Childers morgue, and described by the owner as ‘the last doors his father went through’ – their current soft aqua hue does much to disguise their grisly past.

Tiling is a standout element here in terms of quality, style and functionality.  The home is fully tiled throughout using outsized 500mm square floor tiles and such is the tiler’s attention to detail, that all tiling is mitred.

In the floor-to-ceiling tiled bathrooms, stainless steel mosaic feature tiles are an ideal foil for the smart clean lines of the square basins, suspended chocolate and brushed steel vanities and asymmetric mirrors.  Images of decadent Roman baths are conjured by the pillared surrounds of the ensuite’s spa. 

At the heart of the home is a dazzling kitchen pristine in its combination of chrome, platinum lustre, a white glass splashback and Bianco Alpine granite bench-tops.  The effect is softened by the use of woven Bamboo ply on the raked ceiling.  Bi-fold doors featuring shuck windows lead from the kitchen to the expansive uninterrupted space of the outdoor entertainment area.
