Climate friendly charm

For any house design, functionality is critical to liveability.  The client specifically requested the design of this home to incorporate louvres in the outdoor deck verandah area, to shelter them from the strong winds that occur a lot in this location. Louvres were then used throughout the home to optimise ventilation and comfort and control the flow of breezes, but importantly to enable the owners to enjoy their water view at every opportunity.

A sunroom was another must-have.  Tried and tested over the years, it was a lifestyle feature that came with fond memories of family life in their former Queenslander, and a design element guaranteed to enhance their lifestyle.
